Freedom Proclamation

About the Author of Freedom Proclamation

I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA). I do not have a formal background in political science, history, or law. I simply have been reading a lot about our Founding Fathers, our founding documents, and how our government works. My philosophy is educate yourself.

I am now a Libertarian. I was a registered Republican, although you could have called me a R.I.N.O. The Democratic Party never represented my values, and the Republican Party abandoned my values before I was old enough to vote. Consider this… the first election in which I could vote, the choices were Bill Clinton and Bob Dole... and the options have devolved further every election since. I have been politically disenfranchised from the two party system since I have been old enough to vote. So, I have decided to join a party that proclaims the same values that I do. I believe in small government, low taxes, and a balanced budget. I believe in individual freedoms, individual choices, individual responsibilities, and individual consequences… in order to enjoy the freedom of choice, we must accept the responsibility for and consequences of our decisions.

I am a Concerned Citizen. Other than voting, I had pretty much been politically inactive until 2009. Sure, I enjoy debating current political events with my friends, but I was not “involved” in politics. Until now! I have e-mailed, written, and called Congressional offices, starting working to support candidates with my values, and started this website, because I will not allow my country and its values to be stolen from the people. I just want my country back. I believe that our great nation would be best served by voting out all of our current members (regardless of party affiliation) of the House of Representatives, the Senate, the President and the Vice President, and starting over from scratch. The corruption needs to stop!

My philosophy is non-violent dissent. Unlike the first revolution, our current war cannot be fought with muskets and bayonets. We the people must fight with words and thoughts, with e-mails and letters, with phone calls, with in-person visits to our representatives, with non-violent protests (some even with teabags), and by educating ourselves and each other. Then, the New American Revolution will be won with the vote. Violence will not lead to a solution, only to more problems!

I am a mother and wife. I am an Episcopalian. I believe that we are one nation under God. I believe that each individual has the right to practice his or her own religion, without intervention from the government. I believe that each family has the right to bring up their children within their own religious beliefs, without intervention from the government. I believe that the government has gone too far, in saying that freedom of religion equals freedom from religion… I do not believe that someone quietly praying in public is infringing on anyone else’s rights or freedoms to practice their religion.

I believe that all Americans should educate themselves on our history, our heritage, and the blessing that our Founding Fathers gave to us.
